Promoting Human Rights.
Challenging the Status Quo.

WHAT

Global Women in STEM is founded by two immigrant women engineers with diverse lived experiences working in male-dominated industries. We see the underrepresentation of women and girls in STEM, the access to quality education for youth, and the ecosystem of employment and retention of women as human rights concerns.

We passionately promote equality for women in STEM and health, and challenge the status quo through education, innovation, advocacy, and action for a world where women and girls have access to quality education, equal opportunities, and inclusive and diverse environments to achieve their full potential.

As tireless advocates for outreach, justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion for women and girls, we champion women in leadership and decision-making roles, equal and diverse representation on boards, gender pay equity, and ending of sexual harassment and gender violence through community building, storytelling, and sharing our own lessons learned and lived experiences. We ensure women's voices are heard, respected, and included in political and policy decision-making.

HOW

Our core team consists of two award-winning professional women engineers. We work with leading experts, including universities, regulators, various levels of government, feminist groups, civil societies, UN Women Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) grassroots organizations, women associations, and professionals.

We are members, contributors, and collaborators with diverse organizations serving local, provincial, national, global, and academic communities. Our lifelong goal is to provide our community with long-lasting and sustainable impact by promoting and protecting human rights and by working on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) including gender equality and access to quality education.

WHO

We collaborate with municipal, provincial, federal, and global grassroots, civil organizations, and professional associations to amplify the oppressed and underrepresented voices of women.

We advocate for women’s rights as human rights and ensure women enjoy economic and social prosperous lives based on the United Nations SDGs, especially Goal 5: achieving gender equality and empowering all women and girls.
